March 2nds

Film: Lost Highway. I love Lynch films. In my opinion, he was the most successful in approximating (simulating) the dream state. Couldn't find a DVD of it and got poor quality video. When I turned on the tape, the newscaster said, "enlightening".

If any of Beethoven’s works were never played again, and “erased off the books” would he cease to exist? The parallels with the Islamists: If you kill all the insurgents, does the interpretation of Quranic verse cease? (The longer ideas are in the meme pool, the more impervious they are. Ergo, the West cannot stop Islamic militancy).

What’s interesting about early March is that the morning light changes and the sunlight comes in from the east window and creates situations where I can cast shadows and take photographs of them–Man Ray-like. Most photographers probably do this kind of thing.
As an experiment, I uploaded my lyric notebooks, which I have been keeping over the past 25 years and it generated an analysis. The notebooks are just a list of lyric lines and couplets that I capture when I think of them. The deep dive weaves a narrative through them, which is kind of interesting. But essentially it’s just a random list.
