Watched obscure Hitchcock film/ documentary featuring the stories of Holocaust survivors. I liked what he did with shadows and silhouettes behind the characters. The visual implication is that it is the shadow of the character, when in fact it is a doppelganger. 

By the end of April an area of dappled light appears behind my dining room table. When the wind is blowing it makes an interesting variegated pattern. A possible installation would involve a series of screens strategically placed such that the sunlight coming through a window is superimposed. (Turrell has probably done this).  Light Sprite

Downright frigid. Chicago Photo Network photo shoot at Rookery. Tight security. I drifted up to the Mezzanine and the security guard went nuclear. You're a terrorist until proven otherwise. Shot for 15 minutes—kind of boring. Then down to Dearborn Station with Moya, Garfield Park Conservatory, Dale Chihuly Exhibit.

Went to Spertus Museum re: Faces, Facets, Facades project. The glass already has a line screen, and placing another one on top of it would create strange moires. Forget it. Contact the museum to see if they would be agreeable to a Kickstarter project. We would collaborate on selecting the images to appear on the building. The exhibit would run in June or July, when the sunlight is the most intense, so as to not block light into the building. It would be an 'extension' of Plensa's Crown Fountain idea.

Storms in PM brought down lots of trees in Oak Park including two in front of Wright's Beachy house, which interestingly had a fire in the late 80s, and was also the only house on Forest Avenue to be affected. Its roof had already been in renovation.

Took walk to Thatcher Woods, basically a deadwood forest indirectly the result of climate change (prolonged drought) and ash borer infestations. The trees creak in the wind and you wonder if limbs will collapse on you. People have been building interesting "Hain Huts" from branches and twigs. Hut building is actually a human universal and cultures have been doing it for millennia. Borers make interesting "graffiti" into fallen tree limbs.
