Scanner Art

Utilizing extant technologies to make art is not new. Thomas Barrow used a copy machine to create original works, called the Verifax Prints . The late German novelist W.G. Sebald used the photocopier to intentionally degrade his photography prints which he used in his books, as a way to approximate the mercurial nature of memory. Wade Guyton used wide-format printers to create original works, sometimes manipulating the printer to create interesting "happy accidents". I also used a printer to make originals with my Vellum Prints .
