Steel Curves (Drop 31)
More Drop 31 tuning (E-G#-D-F#). There are 4 bass parts on this. No effects are used. The sound is ultra-dense and heavy, as if a stampeding herd of basses (Bass Bison).
Drop 31 Characteristics
A small "dictionary" of possibilities in this tuning. Its nickname is derived from the fact that the third and first strings are dropped a half-step. It can also be "Drop 13". Demonstrates the playing of 1-5-8 chords with one finger per fret, making it easier to do this across the fingerboard in any position--even at the first fret if you want to put power in an F chord, which is difficult in standard tuning.
Portrait By Tracing
A "tracing" of Portrait of Tracy using the Drop 31 tuning (E-G#-D-F#). I'm using a capo on the second fret as it sounds better than with no capo and puts it in E major, which sounds brighter.
Back To Egypt
A new Short based on an older song (1998) from the Secret Sphinx album, using a TTS voice on the last verse.At the time, the lyrics were more of a pun/wordplay exercise on Memphis Egypt and Memphis Tennessee. Cold desert of the moon Crude oil of the sand Whatever time is left Is at the maker's hand Back to Egypt Where the hot wind blows Back to Egypt A place where the spirits rose Back to Egypt The spinning hands of time Sand in the hour glass It's the last and final straw The straw that broke the camel's back The victorious city Great serpent lying beside the Nile The images in Memphis Are something to admire

Overlay over dream I had in December 2006 about a blue curvy building, which is now the Vista Tower. It is quite a dreamy building. On 3/9/2024 I went back to the location and photographed it.
