Excerpt Library (Music I) The provided sources encompass a wide-ranging collection of texts addressing music theory, film studies, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and cultural history . Music Theory and Compositional Practice These sources provide both historical and technical perspectives on the creation of music. Terence Dwyer offers a practical guide to musique concrète , focusing on using tape recorders as instruments to manipulate sounds through speed changes, reversals, and editing. Paul Hindemith details a rigorous system for two-voice composition , emphasizing the importance of tonal higher-units and degree-progressions. My Music LLM

I have been somewhat of a digital pack rat for the past 25 years for music articles and book excerpts and I have now put them in a Google Notebook . It's quite an interesting resource and I use it often.  The generated description:  The provided texts explore various facets of art, music, and perception, examining how these elements create meaning and experience. Other texts consider the role of sound and visuals in film and art, particularly how ambiguous or fragmented stimuli engage the audience and contribute to the "construction of place" or emotional response. The discussions also touch upon the process of artistic creation, including the use of chance, technology, and the artist's ...

Songs are danced speech.--Alan Lomax [Updated 4/18/2026, Essay 5) Chat with the LLM  The Music of Language is a compilation of writings over the past decade on the connection between language and music. I'm in the camp of musicians who believe that music preceded language. I always understood it intuitively, and then later on it became more of a passionate intellectual pursuit. At the back of the book, as the appendix are what I’m calling “wordrums” (a portmanteau of “word” and “drum”), where the inherent rhythms in natural speech become musical and become seeds for the music. In the past, it was customary for songwriters to start with a title, and the title would have some kind of a rhythmic pattern to it, which would be the basis for the entire song. I still like to work this way. An AI-generated summary/analysis: *** *** Playlist of Examples:  *** Footnotes: 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shave_and_a_Haircut      2. Ivo Popasov, “Bulchen...
