Films are like dreams, dreams are like films. I find that to remember a dream I have to “rewind” it like a tape. This is why I’ve always liked David Lynch films because he approximated the dream experience so nicely. Film gave us a new metaphor to live by. Prior to film, dreams were probably more like chapters in books.
