Tube Voyeur (2025)

AI is great for re-arrangement of your old songs. (The vocal in second re-style sounds like Steve Buscemi, which is why I used images from Reservoir Dogs). As lo-fi and grainy they are, I actually like them. I like my version better for its R&B influences, but no one is going to want to hear me singing.

This version has an interesting context with my using of an image from the opening bumper of the Chicago (PBS) show Image Union. It has an interesting history.

A New Look at the Chicago Panels

The Chicago Panels is a series of minimalist works that Ellsworth Kelly did as a permanent installation at the Art Institute of Chicago for the new Rice Wing in 1988. They are some of the most ignored pieces in the museum, but seeing them in context with the Doric columns and Beaux Arts sculptures is an exciting juxtaposition, which I think makes it decidedly post-modernist. Isomelody and Isorhythm

An interesting exercise is to take an existing melody (as I did with the Bach cello suite) and map it over another rhythm. You can compose your own or use an existing one. With Be Bach I used the sequence of notes in the Suite and mapped it over a bop rhythm that I composed. After the melody was done I added chord changes.
