See You In the Movie
My tribute to David Lynch using scenes from Mulholland Drive, Rabbits, Lost Highway, and Blue Velvet. as well as a painting by Edward Hopper. The lyric is mine, formerly written for GPT#9, but not used. Music is AI-generated.
The idea for the lyric is more prosaic and banal--about life in an alienated screen-based world, in a bleak urban landscape of suburban strip malls rather than vibrant cities. It's more like a movie set than it is real life. The reference to Sephora has to do with a Sephora in my town where they put the entrance in the back towards the parking lot, and the front of the store has an ugly vinyl applique (back to the street). What would be the main entrance is now a utility door. It's something that annoys me.
