Studio 2, Here Comes the Sun. Another triumph for George Harrison. Inspiration from Eric Clapton while in sunny garden of Clapton’s home. His sense of liberation immediately inspires the song and perfectly captures that feeling.

Terrorist attacks in London subway. Al Qaeda claims responsibility. Ironic that just yesterday London was jubilant about winning the 2012 Olympics. Ironic that attacks were in the subway, where people sought refuge in the WWII German blitz. Will be interesting to see all the photos and video taken with camera phones.

Gorgeous morning ["Monet Morning"]—the apex of summer beauty. Today’s Songday Beauty of the Air is based on a Monet quote. “Other painters paint a bridge, a house, a boat...I want to paint the air in which the bridge, the house, and the boat are to be found, the beauty of the air around them. To me the motif itself is an insignificant factor, what I want to reproduce is what lies between the motif in me.”
