Apparently, Clay Aiken of American Idol fame announced another bid for Congress in North Carolina. Reagan was about mixing politics with film acting. In 1999 when Jesse Ventura ran, it became the mixing of TV wrestling and politics.
As I’ve listened to some of the Obama-Springsteen chats, I realized that politicians are really wanna-be rock stars. Politics always gets derailed by new media because media is the engine of popularity.

To theater to (finally) see A Complete Unknown. Interesting chronicle of the “pre-Electric” period of Dylan’s career, as a film might be made about Modernism in art (pre-Pollock). “Going electric” can have metaphorical value: it’s the inflection point, either in your life, or in combination with what was happening in the world. The 60s were when it was easy to give the finger to everything, or to explore the Self above all else. The scenes of Dylan writing songs reminded me of me back in my first apartment in Oak Park, getting up in the morning, and the first thing I did was pick up a guitar and work on songs. I’m still doing that with the Songdays.

Saw this article written in 2021 about “The Summer of AI Love” on what it would have been like had music AI existed then. It was all about spirituality and new age Gnosticism, which has come back to some degree with Neone’s work.
