The Ballad of Willie Crillo (Saddle Man) (1998)

 

Inspired by Beck. The re-title was inspired by “spooning” the intersection of Crilly and Willow in the Old Town neighborhood in Chicago. “Crilly Willow”—that’s an interesting title for a piece of music” I thought. Then I began to play around with the words and “spooned” them “Willy Crillow”’then dropped the W for the Spanish spelling and voila the name of a character.
